NY Director Bill Aylward: I met Flavio Campagna Kampah (F_CK) in Los Angeles in the early 90s. He was doing stuff with Adobe Premiere no one had ever seen before!December, 2018, he was commissioned to create some murals for a soon-to-be opened pasta restaurant in lower Manhattan. Co-opting George Mendonsa’s famous image of a sailor kissing a woman at the end of WWII, Flavio replaced the woman with a bundle of fettuccine!As Flavio had never been to NYC before, I felt compelled to show him the good, the bad and the truly ugly;) After a few beers, we agreed to make a “mini-doc” about his visit and work.The restaurant, Maestro Pasta, finally opened in July and a good time was had by all. Thanks to Emilio Restori for giving me this Artistic Opportunity and Creative Challenge to produce a large piece (300x150cm) to hang on the entrance wall of his Restaurant OPERAVIVA right in the Piazzale Inzani in Parma where I grew up with my family! On Wednesday 31st of October at 7 Pm we are going to reveal it to the public with a small ceremony and rinfresco followed by a great dinner in the style of the Restaurant. CINECITTÀ The Seven REeves of Rome

My last assignment of 2017 was requested by fellow street artist and roman citizen David Diavù Vecchiato , working for ANAS the roman city roads department through his company MURO completing a large street art assignment to paint walls underneath the GRA Grande Raccordo Anulare the main circle road of the city, by many famous international wall painter artists, already 11 before myself.

I was asked to paint the one near CINECITTÀ STUDIOS because of my Director past days and also about the PEPLUM period pieces shot there around the ‘60 like BEN HUR, CLEOPATRA and many more.

I got thrilled and excited by the idea, those were the film that I used to go to see on a sunday afternoon as a kid with my brother Gino in the local theatre near Piazzale Inzani in Parma Italy where we grew up!

I also immediately thought of making a portrait of Steve Reeves one of my bodybuilding miths in my teen, an American actor that came from California to Rome to become the lead of many Hercules films and others about ancient Rome.

The told me I could make it as big as I wanted but decided straight ahead to take the whole 45×4 meters wide length of the entire wall…I wanted it to be as…KOLOSSAL as those old movies!

I wanted this also to become not just an old postcard of those old days, but also a symbol of joy and universal acceptance so I repeated the same picture of Steve seven times (like the hills and the kings of Rome) not only on a sepia tone version but also multicolored over the rainbow flag !

A long hug chain of muscular men looking forward toward a more joyful future!

I got great support from David and two of his local assistants (Mirko and Giorgio) that also took me around their neighbor area ( il Quadraro) and showed me work of other famous international street artist like me before me (such as Buff Monster, Baseman and Ron English )

It was hard work outside in the winter weather, but we made it all as planned and just in time for my family holiday christmas back in Parmatraz! Thanks all for the opportunity and support.

PIANO A FOR VICTORY

Thanks to Mimmo Albano in Parma for giving me this opportunity of creating a new outside look at his beautiful bar and Restaurant there! My take on the name PLAN A was to put the famous V Churchill’s fingers for Vicotry upside down and create the A of the name. While in Milan at my friend Artist Ascanio from Cuba I’ve prepared the original artwork now hanging inside the bar. It was a black and white stencil over gesso plaster over a wood box. We then printed the enlarged image on the glass window and the portion of the wall for a big bang effect in the street.

Pao, F CK e Ascanio si sono conosciuti e incontrati in Sicilia nell’estate del 2016, tutti e tre selezionati dal comune di Petrosino (TP) per realizzare murales nel paese.
L’sperienza comune, realizzata in un breve e intenso periodo di fervore creativo è stata l’occasione per far nascere un’intensa amicizia.
F CK e Ascanio si sono ritrovati di nuovo a Cuba, per un progetto di stampa serigrafica nel laboratorio René Portocarrero a L’Avana, dove Ascanio ha mosso i suoi primi passi artistici, nella sua isola natale. Ascanio ha realizzato una stampa a tiratura limitata di 10 soggetti ispirati al leggendario comandante Che Guevara in collaborazione con lo scrittore Martin Guevara.
F CK, con l’aiuto di Ascanio e dei suoi colleghi stampatori, ha prodotto una trilogia a tiratura limitata coi soggetti di Trump, Che Guevara e Ernest Hemingway.
Nel frattempo Pao continuava la sua produzione artistica a Milano ed è proprio qui che i tre hanno deciso di ritrovarsi e confrontare i propri stili così differenti in un’esposizione comune presso la galleria di Artepassante e il laboratorio artistico di Ascanio.

I ve decided to upgrade my SELFIE SUSPECT stencil in Parma with the picture of the child actor he molested when he was 24 and the kid was 14.

Back to Bertinelli in Medesano, Italy for my good old friend and Consorzio Parmigiano Reggiano’s newly elected president Nicola Bertinelli, for some more decorative mural work in his amazing restaurant disco and pool, where I ve also created a 3×4 meter 4 colors stencil tribute to famous 60’s Italian classic movie IL SORPASSO by Dino Risi. Very proud of this, it s always been one of my favorite movies ever, such a great affresco of the Italy I ve grew up in.
